Firm Settings

Configure your firm's global settings from the Settings page.

General

Set your firm name (appears on invoices), default currency (USD, CAD, EUR), and language (French or English for generated documents).

Offices

Add office locations with names and optional invoice prefixes (max 10 characters, e.g., KIN, LUB, GOM). Each office gets its own invoice numbering sequence.

Departments

Create departments (Litigation, Advisory, Mining, Tax, etc.) to organize matters and generate reports by practice area.

Document categories

Manage the categories used to classify uploaded documents: Contracts, Pleadings, Correspondence, Evidence, Court Orders, etc.

Billing settings

  • Default tax rate — applied to new invoices
  • Email sender address — for invoice emails
  • Email templates — subject and body with variables
  • Payment terms — text shown on PDF invoices
  • Automatic reminders — enable/disable, frequency (7/14/30 days), max count
  • Approval workflow — require partner approval before sending
